Good Evening Bobcats,

Please read through this email as it will contain tons of information about the football team. This week we began our Gridiron campaign to raise funds for the team. We are off to a great start but need your help in promoting the link for family, friends, and supporters to donate. Our Black and Gold scrimmage will be on Thursday, May 12th at 6pm at Buchholz High School. We are also excited to announce that we will have a food truck, Swamp Religion, available for food and drink purchases before and during the scrimmage. I will be posting the menu and prices on our Facebook page.. This game will be for the current Varsity and JV players only. The incoming 8th graders will practice from 5:00 pm-5:50 pm and then Coach Whittemore would like the players to stay and watch the game from the stands. Coach also wanted everyone to know that no one will be allowed to sit on the track or field and must remain in the stands or outside the gates. This will be the last night that the incoming 8th graders will practice until summer workouts begin.

We are so excited about the new incoming players and have an unprecedented amount of 8th graders. With that comes some struggles including not enough Riddell helmets for every player. We currently have 120 helmets and need close to 150. Doug Johnson has been working to help with the helmet shortage for Buchholz and put together a package for Riddell to send a group of helmets from players that may own a good Riddell helmet (from last year) that’s another color. Riddell will recondition/re-certify and paint the helmets to the Matte Black. The idea would be Buchholz would pay for the cost of the reconditioning (roughly $50 per helmet) but Buchholz would also retain the helmets so in essence, families would be donating the helmets to the program but your child could wear the helmet if they wanted to. It must be a Riddell helmet to qualify. If your child has a helmet they would like to donate please bring on Thursday and I will be collecting them for Doug.

Next week will be our Spring game against Vanguard on Thursday, May 19th at 7:00 pm at Citizen’s Field. In order to be ready for concessions next week we need to clean out our storage at Citizen’s on Tuesday, May 17th from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm . Good Morning Bobcats,

Monday afternoon begins Spring practice for incoming 8th graders from 6pm-7:30pm. If you have not turned in your paperwork please bring Monday. I will have Bobcat shirts and shorts available for purchase at the beginning of practice. I will also be there to collect any paperwork, fairshare and summer workout payments and to answer any questions. If you know anyone that will be attending Buchholz in the fall and wants to play football, please tell them to come out Monday evening.

Good Evening Bobcats,

Today was the start of Spring Ball for all returning players. Each weekday Mon through Friday they will practice from 3-5:30. Next Monday, May 2nd the incoming 8th graders will start their practice from 6-7:30 pm Monday through Thursday..

Next week the players will be collecting emails to submit for our annual GridIron Campaign, our biggest fundraiser of the year. Please look out for an informational flyer sometime this week regarding the fundraiser.

Thursday, May 12th will be the annual Spring Black and Gold Scrimmage game at Buchholz from 6pm-8pm. I am trying to get a food truck to come out so food will be available for purchase. If you have any food truck contacts or know someone that would be interested in coming out please let me know.

We will wrap Spring Ball up on Thursday, May 19th with our Spring Game against Vanguard at Citizen’s Field at 7pm.
