Bobcat Families,
To promote the safety of students, staff and fans at what is expected to be a very well-attended game, Friday’s football game between Buchholz High and Eastside High at Citizens Field will feature additional safety and security precautions. These include more law enforcement officers and the use of hand-held metal detectors to scan all fans entering the stadium.
The district’s clear bag policy will also be in effect for fans. Spectators will be allowed one clear bag no larger than 12”x 12”x 6”. Acceptable bags include clear, plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags meeting these dimensions. Spectators will also be permitted a clear resealable bag no larger than gallon sized and items related to a medical condition. Bags violating that policy will not be permitted in the stadium.
Prohibited items include but are not limited to : purses, backpacks, coolers, fanny packs, camera bags, computer cases, diaper bags, and binocular cases. A flier is attached with more information.
All individuals and permitted bags are subject to search at any time. Spectators will be asked to return any prohibited items to their vehicles before entering the stadium. Weapons of any kind are NOT allowed in bags, on persons, or in vehicles parked on district property or at school sponsored events.
It is likely that it will take longer for fans to enter Citizens Field because of these precautions. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work to ensure that the game will be a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.
