UPDATE ABOUT BUCHHOLZ FOOTBALL

Posted by Carissa Clayton at Oct 7, 2020 6:21PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Hi Bobcats

As I’m sure you are aware, this week’s game against GHS has been cancelled due to another player testing positive to Covid-19 and we are hoping to reschedule at the end of October in place of the Creekside game. Tonight, Coach Whittemore explained that we have a pending game with Steinbrenner High School. The Hillsborough Athletic Director will inform us in the morning if the game is approved.

The tickets that were purchased for the GHS game will be refunded and a new link will be sent for ticket purchase for the Steinbrenner game if it’s approved.

We know this can be a very frustrating time and we appreciate your understanding in this challenging time.

Please direct any questions or concerns in regards to the games, ticket sales, etc to our Athletic Director, George Atohi.

Due to the high demand for Friday’s football game vs Gainesville High School, we have already sold out. Per District Policy, we are currently permitted to be at 25% capacity at all athletic events, and our ticket allotment is stretched over Football, Band and Cheer. Friday’s game will be broadcast on the MY11 television station as the area “Friday Night Rivals” match up available on Cox Cable and Dish Network. CBS 4 also will Livestream it at https://mycbs4.com/sports/friday-night-rivals. Thank you for your patience, and we are looking forward to getting back to sold out games, meets, matches with the best fans and student section in the area.

QUESTIONS ABOUT GHS GAME BEING SOLD OUT

Posted by Carissa Clayton at Oct 6, 2020 6:27AM PDT ( 1 Comment )

Good morning Bobcats,

As you may be aware the tickets for the GHS game are already sold out. I woke up to 8 emails and text messages from parents, some of which were quite heated. So since I will be working most of the day and won’t be able to respond quickly, I figured I would address it to everyone here because I’m sure more of these emails and texts will be coming.

This game selling out doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. These cross town games are always widely attended and to be honest I was surprised how long it took for the Eastside game to sell out. Each player is LIMITED to 4 tickets (not GUARANTEED 4 tickets). On Monday, when we get the link, the football team, the band and the cheerleaders are given the link to purchase tickets. Each team is given 500 tickets (actually 450 tickets for purchase because the school board allots 50 tickets for each teams band members that attend the game because they actually sit in the stands). Tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis.

The Buchholz Football Team is comprised of a group of young men and our coaches. Together we are working to be better athletes, students, and young men. Our lives have been forever changed by the amazing parents, teachers, coaches, and family who have help to shape us. Sadly, too many of them, and us, have been affected by the diagnosis of breast cancer.

During the month of October we will be joining in a cause that is bigger than football. Together as a team we will celebrate the amazing women whose lives have been changed forever by this awful disease. Together as a team we will work to raise money to find a cure. And in doing what we love, we will together work to Score for a Cure.

This Friday, for the GHS game, we will kick off the event as we have a pink out. The first 500 fans will receive a free pink Bobcat “Score for a Cure” t-shirt.

Please join us by donating today to this incredible cause. Because of the current pandemic, they are unable to have the annual walk so this is another way to help support the cause. You can either make a flat donation or pledge a certain amount for each point the Bobcats score this month. I know we have the most amazing fans and supporters that will join us in this incredible opportunity! We thank you for joining us in the fight to end breast cancer.
